Rick Allen Shriver Obituary

Rick led an adventurous life. He could always take apart anything that wasn’t working, then
reassemble it with improvements. He was a natural with anything that was mechanical, needed
welding and photography. He was a graduate from the Denver Diesel and Automotive College.
He kept a lot of people safe and taught everyone something while he was fixing or inventing
something new. If you had a question – Rick had an answer.
He was a voracious reader of all things and had a memory that could recall all that information
at any time. He drove hundreds of thousands of miles for work, family & fun. He loved all things
Apple and was a behind the scenes tester for software development.
His welding and mechanical work exposed him to many toxins which lead to a chronic condition
of heavy metal toxicity in his body, he wasn’t a complainer, but this took a toll on his immune
system, and he had a flare up in mid-February that he wasn’t able to recover from.
Rick loved his pets, the most recent was a little kitten that had been abandoned, her name was
Lucy, and you can see this bundle of joy at https://youtu.be/rBUGT3PF13w , it’s a nice reminder
of the gentle giant Rick was. He also had 3 previous pets, a basset hound that I can’t recall the
name of and then 2 smaller dogs: Shuggy & Dolittle.
Rick is survived by his mother Evelyn Shriver, and Aunt Catherine Wagner, along with his
siblings: Pam Shriver, Gary Shriver, Jenn Rauh & Bill Shriver. His cousins are from the Wagner &
Wood families, along with many nieces and nephews, and 2 sisters-in-law. We also remember
his father, George Shriver, his grandparents and his Aunt & Uncles who preceded him in death
and honor them for all their contributions to Rick’s full life.
Rick was a great outdoorsman, the family has chosen The Outdoor Discovery Center in Holland,
Michigan as a suggestion for any memorials or tributes to Rick – donations can be made here:
