Obituary
Willie James Nettles, Sr. , 83, a native of Mexia, Alabama and resident of Dothan, Alabama was born January 25, 1940 to Sam Nettles and Ethel Nettles. He was the first child of this union. He departed this life on Thursday, June 1, 2023.
At an early age Willie was a former member of Mexia AOH Church of God. He began his employment at Lazenby (Gate) Precast, Temple, and other construction companies.
Willie James was blessed to have three daughters and two sons with Ms. Ruby Lee Henderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother; daughter: Seretha Katrina Nettles; a brother and son-in-law, John Lewis.
He leaves to cherish his memories to three daughters and one step-daughter: Linda Lewis of Repton, AL, Joyce (David) Frazier of Dothan, AL, Tonya Nettles of Montgomery, AL, and Felicia Nettles-Henderson of Dothan, AL; three sons: Willie James (Sara) Nettles, Jr., Clifton (Nikketra) Nettles and Isadore (Lynn) Watson all of Monroeville, AL; twenty-three grandchildren, fifty-six great grandchildren and two great, great-grandchildren; one devoted friend: Mary Smith; one special friend: Curtis Doyle; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
